Is HalalLabel AI a certification body?
No. HalalLabel AI is an ingredient review and decision-support app. It helps you review ingredient evidence, but it does not replace recognized halal certification bodies or qualified religious guidance.
What can I scan?
You can scan a product barcode first. If barcode product data is missing or ingredients are incomplete, you can photograph an ingredient label and confirm OCR text before analysis.
What happens if a barcode is not found?
Use the ingredient label photo flow. The app can still analyze confirmed OCR ingredient text even when a barcode product record is unavailable.
Can OCR make mistakes?
Yes. Food packaging can be small, curved, glossy, or multilingual. HalalLabel AI asks you to review and edit recognized text before analysis when using OCR.
Why does a product show as doubtful?
Doubtful usually means an ingredient may need source verification, such as animal-derived emulsifiers, glycerin, rennet, natural flavors, or meat sources where halal slaughter cannot be confirmed.
Are my scan history and saved products stored online?
Scan history and saved products are stored locally on your device. Cloud services may process ingredient text, selected label images for OCR, feedback, quotas, purchase verification, analytics, and diagnostics as described in the Privacy Policy.
How do Premium purchases work?
Premium purchases are processed by Google Play or the App Store. Premium can unlock more label checks, no ads where ads are enabled, full on-device history, saved products, and stronger review for difficult ingredients.
How do I cancel or request a refund?
Manage subscriptions, cancellations, refunds, and billing from your Google Play or App Store account. HalalLabel AI cannot directly change store billing rules.
How can I delete my data?
You can clear local history and saved products inside the app. For server-side data requests, email support@halallabelai.com with the subject "HalalLabel AI Data Deletion Request".
Which languages does the app support?
Core interface, OCR context, and AI result language support are scoped to English, Malay, Indonesian, Arabic, Turkish, French, Urdu, and Traditional Chinese. Other languages are not claimed as officially supported.
