These Terms of Use govern your access to HalalLabel AI, the HalalLabel AI mobile app, and halallabelai.com. The service is operated by SUNSHING NETWORK PTE. LTD.. By using the app or website, you agree to these terms.
Product scope
HalalLabel AI lets users scan product barcodes, capture or upload ingredient labels, review OCR text, paste ingredient text, and receive ingredient-level halal, doubtful, haram, or not-food signals. The app may use local rules, Open Food Facts product data, on-device OCR, Firebase Cloud Functions, and a configured AI provider.
Decision support only
HalalLabel AI provides ingredient analysis and supporting evidence for personal decision support. The app is not an official halal certification body and does not replace guidance from qualified religious authorities or recognized certification organizations.
User responsibility
Ingredient labels, barcode databases, OCR, local rules, and AI models can contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing labels, official certifications, manufacturer information, and other trusted sources before making dietary decisions.
You should not rely on HalalLabel AI for medical, allergy, nutrition, religious, legal, or emergency decisions. You are responsible for any ingredient text, label image, barcode, feedback note, or support information that you submit.
Premium and subscriptions
Premium may provide more AI ingredient and label scans, no ads where ads are enabled, full scan history, saved products, and stronger review for difficult labels. Available plans, prices, free scan limits, and benefits may vary by app version, platform, and store configuration.
Purchases, subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, refunds, taxes, family sharing availability, billing grace periods, and restore purchase behavior are processed by Google Play or the App Store. Manage subscriptions, cancellations, and refund requests through your store account. Restoring purchases depends on store availability, matching store account status, and successful purchase verification.
Premium access may be recorded locally on your device and, when available, verified server-side using Firebase Cloud Functions. We may deactivate, withhold, or re-check Premium access if verification fails, a transaction is refunded or revoked, a subscription expires, fraud is suspected, or store data is unavailable.
Free scans and quota controls
Free AI scan limits are configurable by product policy and may be controlled through Remote Config. Premium may increase or remove those limits depending on the plan and app version. We may adjust free limits, Premium benefits, ads, and feature availability over time.
Data retention and deletion
Local scan history, saved products, local usage counters, preferences, and local entitlement cache remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Server-side data such as anonymous user records, entitlement records, usage quota records, feedback reports, analysis audit logs, and purchase verification records may be retained for operations, safety, fraud prevention, support, accounting, dispute handling, legal compliance, and product improvement.
For deletion requests, see Delete Data or contact support@halallabelai.com. Some records may be retained where needed for security, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute handling, or legal obligations.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse the service, attempt to bypass quotas, interfere with cloud functions, reverse engineer protected service behavior, submit abusive feedback, or use the app for unlawful purposes.
You may not submit private personal information, unlawful content, malware, abusive requests, automated high-volume requests, or content that you do not have the right to use. We may limit or block access where needed to protect the app, users, providers, or infrastructure.
Third-party services
The app depends on third-party services and stores, including Open Food Facts, Firebase, OpenAI or the configured AI provider, Google ML Kit Text Recognition, Google AdMob if enabled, Google Play, and the App Store. Their availability, data, decisions, prices, billing rules, and policies may change independently of HalalLabel AI.
Product changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, remove, or add features, models, quotas, Premium benefits, ads, supported platforms, supported countries, or service providers. Cloud features may be unavailable because of internet connectivity, platform outages, store restrictions, provider limits, quota limits, maintenance, or abuse prevention.
Intellectual property
HalalLabel AI, including its design, software, brand, website, content, and generated product experience, is owned by us or our licensors. You may use the app for personal, lawful purposes under these terms, but you may not copy, resell, redistribute, or create competing services from protected parts of the app.
No warranty
The app and website are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect product data, error-free OCR, or complete AI accuracy.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by ingredient data errors, OCR errors, AI errors, barcode database gaps, store billing decisions, provider outages, or reliance on app results.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to SUNSHING NETWORK PTE. LTD., except where mandatory local consumer protection laws give you additional rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app, stores, SDKs, legal requirements, or business operations change. Continued use of the app or website after an update means you accept the updated terms.
